Contracts: Broker Side ZOOM ONLY: 2026-06-11
Description
This class meets the 3-hour TREC contracts requirement for your license renewal.
Contracts: Broker Side is designed to examine the contracts, addenda, notices and other forms that are essential to the operation of a brokerage firm in Texas. Although it is a 4-hour course it will fulfill the 3 hour contracts requirement that is mandated for the renewal of a real estate license. We begin with a quick overview of a broker’s responsibilities under TREC rules, Section 535.2, followed by a discussion of Independent Contractor vs Employee statuses, and the requirement for a Policy and Procedures manual. After a careful examination of the TAR Independent Contractor Agreement we will look at 20+ other forms issued by the Texas Real Estate Commission, the Texas Association of Realtors®, and the Houston Association of Realtors®. The objective of the course is to school brokers and delegated supervisors in the various forms that impact their roles in their respective firms. The relevance stems from the need for these brokers and supervisors to establish, develop, and maintain relationships with their sales agents.
